Whales of the Whitsundays is an exciting project that has put the Whitsundays on the map as an accredited Whale Heritage Area – the first within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and in a UNESCO World Heritage Area! Coral Sea Marina are a proud sponsor of the program.

The Great Barrier Reef Foundation is the leading global charity established to help protect and preserve the Great Barrier Reef. They are a collaborative organisation that raises funds, invests in innovative ideas and designs real-world, scalable conservation programs in Australia and the Pacific.

Whitsunday Regional Council has developed the Whitsundays “Healthy Heart” Project to decarbonise the tourism sector, whilst achieving earthCheck and Sustainable Destination accreditation for the region. The project provides an opportunity for engaged partners within the local tourism sector to set higher and more ambitious targets for climate change mitigation, to improve the health of our reef and lead the way towards our region achieving a zero net emissions target by 2050.

ecoBiz is a free sustainability program, created in partnership with the Queensland Government, to help businesses reduce water, waste and energy consumption, manage carbon emissions and improve resource efficiency and sustainability.

The International SeaKeepers Society promotes oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community. Through utilizing privately owned yachts, the DISCOVERY Yacht Fleet, anyone can join in with their marine conservation projects and contribute.

The Great Barrier Reef Festival takes pride in inclusively connecting the reef to the shore and celebrates the coastal region of the Whitsundays at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. There truly is something for everyone from our Friday Night Fireworks with Foreshore Cocktail Party and Live Music to the Saturday Street Party including the Revvin the Reef Car Show, free Family Fun Day, Great Barrier Reef Experiences and much more!
