The Coral Sea Academy promotes the importance of safety at sea to not only boating visitor, but all visitor to the region. By prioritising safety on the water, you can mitigate risks, navigate the unpredictable, and adhere to life-saving regulations.
Through providing free training events and resources to increase knowledge and skills on a range of boating topics, such as basic navigation or extreme weather preparedness, the Coral Sea Academy hopes to showcase how a safer experience on the water leads to a more enjoyable boating experience.

Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) is the state’s new, single, integrated volunteer marine rescue service, keeping people safe on Queensland’s waters.
MRQ Whitsundays provides round-the-clock marine search and rescue support, assisting recreational sailors and commercial operators alike, in one of Australia’s most iconic boating destinations. In addition to emergency response, the unit offers vessel tracking, radio communications, and boating safety education, helping ensure every voyage through the Whitsundays is safer and more enjoyable.
