Coral Sea Marina is a Marina Partner, proudly the first in the South Pacific, of the International SeaKeepers Society.
The International SeaKeeper’s Society supports marine science and education by utilising privately owned yachts and vessels to act as platforms for oceanographic research, educational outreach, and marine conservation. They are dedicated to facilitating research, conservation efforts, and education by connecting the boating community with the scientific and academic communities.
Coral Sea Marina is uniquely positioned on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef and able to promote awareness and facilitate participation in ocean conservation programs and the citizen science movement to both privately owned vessels and our commercial tourism operators.
The International SeaKeepers Society promotes oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community.
With the help of everyday boat owners, the International SeaKeepers Society is able to remove some of the financial roadblocks involved in marine conservation and permit marine scientists to allocate their funds to maximise research potential.
Boat owners are encourage to join the DISCOVER Yacht Program, where they can become citizen scientists and assist in valuable research and conservation through joining one of their many programs or by hosting marine scientists onboard,
