Let’s Strain the Drain litter audit

Event Details

  • Date:

Healthy Rivers to Reef Partnership coordinated the installation of 15 stormwater gross pollutant traps (GPTs) in the Whitsunday region. Now it’s time to see what they’ve collected.

Come along to this event to learn about local litter issues while helping to record the findings in the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) database. This data will be used to create source reduction plans with community groups and businesses in the region.

Training and materials (incl. gloves) provided.

The two-year Whitsunday GPT Project has received funding support from the Queensland Government’s Community Sustainability Action grant program and Healthy Rivers to Reef Partnership and is in collaboration with Whitsunday Regional Council. The project is also supported by ReefClean, Tangaroa Blue Foundation, and Reef Trust.
